Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has revealed the reasons why the club’s management was open to the departure of Allan Saint-Maximin this summer.
After four seasons at Newcastle, Allan Saint-Maximin (26) is about to join Saudi Arabia. Like many others, the tricolor left winger should choose golden exile this summer by opting for the Al-Ahli club. In the course of an interview granted to the DailyMailEddie Howe, the manager of the Magpies gave the reasons for the expected departure of the Francilien.
“Allan is in discussions for a transfer. With financial fair play, we have to make transactions, otherwise we will be stuck this summer. I don’t want to lose him. The FFP obliges us to do so, to a lesser extent. It looks like that might happen. Sometimes these things have to happen for the club to grow.”explained the British technician.
As a reminder, the residents of St James’ Park had paid the sum of 18 million euros in 2019 to afford the former AS Saint-Etienne who passed through AS Monaco, Hanover, Bastia and OGC Nice.
