French world champion Christophe Dugarry is shocked by the treatment reserved for an OL player.

Olympique Lyonnais is struggling at the moment, with three defeats conceded in five league games. There are several questions about the work being done at Groupama Stadium. What is certain is that it is not Anthony Lopes’ fault. An undisputed starter for the Rhone team for many seasons, the last Portuguese bulwark now finds himself completely sidelined from the starting 11. His management is doing everything to get him to leave for another club.

This way of acting towards one of the emblems of the club has shocked many people. Among those who have stepped up to defend the case of the Portuguese international is Christophe Dugarry. The former French striker spoke on RMC Sport to express his opinion on this situation which he considers shameful.

Dugarry scandalized

This is everything I hate about football. It’s inhuman, he thundered, before continuing. I don’t even understand how you can be so cruel on a human level! The guy gave his all for the club. We’re not going to blame him for the rotten season. Imagine what the other players are saying to themselves when they see how Lopes is treated. They’re saying to themselves: “What the hell is this bastard?” I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

A clear opinion shared by his friend Jérome Rothen. During the same show, the latter confided: “If OL is disrespectful to Lopes? The question is no longer even asked. They are trying to make him crack. Textor doesn’t care about the club while Lopes has been carrying it for 25 years!”
