Bixente Lizarazu praised the qualities of the French international from Paris Saint-Germain, who scored against Stade de Reims on Saturday.

Ousmane Dembélé, who was unconvincing in the victory against Girona (1-0) in the Champions League on Wednesday, this time allowed Paris Saint-Germain to secure a draw during their trip to Reims (1-1) this Saturday in Ligue 1.

Coming into play in the 65th minute, the French right winger took on the role of saviour by offering his team the equaliser. The French champions had quickly fallen behind after a goal from Keito Nakamura at the start of the match.

“Where he excels is…”

After this performance, Dembélé received compliments from Bixente Lizarazu, consultant for TelefootThe former 98 world champion stressed that, despite a lack of efficiency in the truth zone, the ex-Dortmunder remains a formidable offensive weapon.

“He will always be perfectible in terms of his efficiency in front of goal,” he said before continuing: “But when he’s behind the defender, like there (on the goal against Reims, editor’s note), it’s very complicated. If you don’t see it, his acceleration capacity is terrible. Then where he’s excellent is on the dribble.”

Lizarazu, however, acknowledged that the Norman, who has 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 matches in all competitions, was more precise in the final move. “It’s good that this season he’s a little better in finishing, we can see his progress”judged the former left-back.
