Al-Nassr enter the Asian Champions League on Monday, a match against Iraqi club Al Shorta in which Cristiano Ronaldo will not participate due to illness.

On Friday evening, Al-Nassr were held to a draw at home by Al Ahli (1-1), in the third day of the Saudi Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo did not perform as usual and did not score. Was the Portuguese player already starting to feel a little less well? In any case, he will be absent on Monday, for his team’s opening match in the Asian Champions League, as he is suffering from a viral infection.

Al-Nassr confirmed the information on Sunday by posting a message on its social networks. Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo was not feeling well today and was diagnosed with a viral infection. The team doctor confirmed that he needs to rest and not move. As a result, he will not travel with the team to Iraq today. We wish our captain a speedy recovery. »

Back against Al-Ettifaq?

An absence that will inevitably impact the Saudi club, especially since CR7 scored two goals out of the three played by his team in the championship. Al-Nassr will however be able to count on the rest of its squad, including non-EU players Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozovic and Sadio Mané.

Al-Nassr will face Al Shorta on Monday at 6pm, then will return to their domestic league on September 20 with a trip to Al-Ettifaq. If he recovers on time, Cristiano Ronaldo should be ready.
