Deschamps justifies Badé’s summons

Didier Deschamps thinks that Loic Badé is perfectly legitimate to join the French team.

The French team’s training session began this Monday in Clairefontaine. The players who went there are not the same ones who were called up last Thursday. There are two forfeits recorded, those of Wesley Fofana and Ferland Mendy. The duo was replaced by Loïc Badé and Lucas Digne.

If Digne’s return is not really a surprise, Badé’s presence may be surprising. To the extent that there was a certain Benjamin Pavard on standby.

Deschamps believes in Badé

The name of the French international hopeful has never really been mentioned to join the A team. Even if his good performances during the Olympics were likely to propel him to the category above.

Deschamps assumes this choice, in any case. And it is certain that the former Rennes player will make a good showing if he ever lines it up.
“It’s a choice. Benjamin (Pavard), I didn’t take him at the start. Calling him back afterwards, I didn’t find it very coherent but it doesn’t change the position that I gave you after the first list. (…) I consider that it’s the moment to see as many players as possible.”
