While the coach of the French team could have already selected him for the Euro given his great performances with Crystal Palace, DD waited until he left for Bayern Munich this summer to finally call him up. Asked this Monday at a press conference about how he plans to use the versatile striker, Deschamps explained what he had in mind for the 22-year-old player:
“Playmaker? He can, he has the ability to play multiple positions. In his usage last season, the one he had with Henry. He can play on both sides even if he feels better on the right. He has that ability and the volume in controls and passes. He is a young player who has taken steps, there is great potential.”
