Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could have signed for Al-Ahli, but the move did not materialize. We tell you why.

Victor Osimhen was close to joining Saudi Arabia before the end of the transfer window, but the transfer ultimately did not happen. The reason is that Al Ahli refused to increase the price for the Nigerian striker.

According to TMW, Osimhen has agreed a four-year deal with the Saudis, worth €40 million per season. Al Ahli had offered €80 million, but Napoli were demanding €5 million more. However, Al Ahli refused to go any further and turned to Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who eventually signed in the afternoon.

Naples opposed Osimhen’s departure

Osimhen was also offered to Chelsea, who made a contract offer worth €8 million per year, although 50% of the terms depended on bonuses. Here, it was the player who declined the offer. Regarding PSG, also mentioned as a suitor, there was no concrete approach.

In Naples, Osimhen is still tied to a contract worth 11 million euros per year. However, he is no longer part of the squad. The management has decided to sideline him until further notice.
