Spurs’ emblematic captain for a long time, Hugo Lloris has marked the recent history of his club. Even if the trophies do not necessarily follow, the career of the former French international (145 caps) speaks for itself. But while Tottenham is coming out of a complicated season and Harry Kane seems – once again – on the start, the 36-year-old doorman wants to look elsewhere. But to go where?

André Onana leaving for Manchester United, the Inter Milan track cooling down, there are not many options left for Hugo Lloris. Unless Paris Saint-Germain accelerates the file or the Saudi clubs come forward aggressively. What is certain is that the goalkeeper will not play again in the Spurs jersey. In the middle of the pre-season tour in Australia, Ange Postecoglou confirmed his player’s departure wishes: “I spoke with him and he told me that he was hoping to transfer somewhere else so he could play and start the next phase of his career”. The Greek coach adds: “I’ve only had two or three talks with him, but even in training I can see that he’s not just an exceptional goalkeeper, but an exceptional human being as well.” A file which should reveal its verdict in the coming weeks for Hugo Lloris and the Londoners.
