Luis Enrique does not seem convinced by the new format of the Champions League. Present at a press conference this Saturday, the Spanish technician spoke about this edition of the Cup with the big ears 2024/25, particularly with regard to the draw. “My feeling with the draw is that it’s a new competition, a new format, statistically, we were the least favoured, but I can’t judge this competition because I don’t know how many points we’ll need to be in the top eight. We’ll see if this change is attractive or… I can’t judge, everything is new. We were the least lucky. Adding two more games in the Champions League, I can’t analyse it yet. But we’ll need a lot of points.”
Paris Saint-Germain were not very lucky in the draw and inherited several complicated matches. Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Atlético de Madrid and Arsenal will be on the program for the Parisian club. Luis Enrique’s men will also inherit Girona, Salzburg, PSV Eindhoven and Stuttgart to conclude their league phase, a new feature of this 2.0 format of the Cup with the big ears.
