It was the action of the weekend and of this first day of Ligue 1. This Saturday, during Reims – Lille OSC, Amadou Koné was sent off from the match because of a serious foul on Angel Gomes.

The Lille midfielder, hit in the face, lost consciousness and was taken away on a stretcher immediately afterwards.

This Thursday, the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League ruled. The player who knew he was under threat of a very heavy suspension of at least three matches for “serious misconduct” knows his sanction. He will therefore be suspended for four matches in the end.

Back against Angers

The LFP Disciplinary Committee has made its decision regarding the Amadou Koné case. The 19-year-old Ivorian midfielder will be absent for the next 4 matches for his foul on Lille OSC midfielder Angel Gomes.

The Ivorian should therefore make his return to the Ligue 1 pitch on September 29 on the SCO d’Angers pitch as part of the 6th day of the French championship. A real blow for the Rémois at the start of the season.
