After Gonçalo Ramos’ injury in the opening match of Ligue 1, last Friday in Le Havre, PSG is more than ever on the lookout to recruit an attacking player. The Portuguese center forward, who had an ankle operation this Tuesday in Doha, will miss the next three months of competition, but Luis Enrique is not asking for a new number 9. So Luis Campos, the Rouge et Bleu’s sports advisor in charge of recruitment, continues to be on the lookout for a winger as he has been for several months.
Ademola Lookman was suddenly in the sights of the Portuguese manager and the Nigerian international quickly expressed his desire to join the capital club. Negotiations were well advanced with the will-o’-the-wisp’s entourage, when Paris Saint-Germain was completely cooled by the demands of the Bergamo club, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto (much less reliable, however, than Fabrizio Romano).
PSG still on Sancho?
The 26-year-old is valued at €40 million, but La Dea are reportedly asking for much more, especially as Premier League clubs are also interested in the London native (trained at Charlton). Lookman was exceptional in some matches last season, scoring a magnificent hat-trick in the Europa League final win against Leverkusen (3-0). He finished with 17 goals and nine assists in 45 matches in all competitions.
PSG still have 10 days to find their happiness. If Ousmane Dembélé is an essential starter on the right and Bradley Barcola revealed himself on the left during the second half of last season, Luis Enrique has therefore called for another winger capable of making a lot of difference. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was in the sights but would cost far too much. Jadon Sancho, a substitute at Manchester United, remains in the good books.
