Rather curious timing but the big evening of the English players’ association (the PFA for Professional Footballers’ Association) takes place this Tuesday evening, at the Opera House in Manchester, a few days after the first day of the new Premier League season. The occasion to present several distinctions to the players who made the rain and the beautiful weather of English football last season. Cole Palmer was also named best player of the season but curiously does not appear in the 11 of the year.

In a highly anticipated and respected ceremony in England, where the majority of players, coaches and managers are present, last year’s eleven was unveiled. In goal, we find the Spaniard David Raya from Arsenal. In defense, William Saliba, Virgil Van Dijk, Gabriel and Kyle Walker form a solid curtain. In the center, Rodri, Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard are present in the awarded composition, while Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Ollie Watkins form the attack.
