Mbappe’s arrival improves an already deep Real Madrid squad, but despite arriving as one of the best players in the world, the 25-year-old has not let his ego get the better of him. That’s according to Carlo Ancelotti, who heaped praise on the French forward in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s trip to Mallorca (via Diario AS).
“As with all new players, the people at the club try to make them feel comfortable. He is an extraordinary talent, and we have to help him adapt. He entered the dressing room very well, with humility, very serious… He started very well.” Ancelotti also spoke about preparing for his first La Liga game without the services of Toni Kroos, who retired this summer.
Ancelotti greets Mbappé
“The first game went well for us. We will always miss Kroos, he was a special player. Looking for someone like him is impossible, you have to adapt. It’s good that the players think.”
It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid fare at Son Moix this Sunday in La Liga. Kroos will undoubtedly be sorely missed, although Mbappe’s added shot-making power will certainly aid the club’s efforts to achieve success this season.
