It is certain that Todd Boehly wanted to see a better result from Chelsea against Manchester City. Present for the first clash of this new Premier League season at Stamford Bridge, the owner of the Blues witnessed his team’s defeat… or at least the first 86 minutes of the match. The American businessman left the stadium stands to return to his box, a few minutes before the end of regulation time.

Since the start of the transfer window, Chelsea has spent 189 million euros and has registered the arrival of a new coach, Enzo Maresca, from Leicester. However, none of the nine recruits of the London club have been in the starting line-up for this match against City… In the meantime, there are 12 days left in the transfer window and this disappointment could encourage Boehly to spend more. And there are still 37 days left for Chelsea to try to do better than last season’s sixth place.
