DAZN, the twist!

Rare good news in the TV rights saga, DAZN is now broadcasting excerpts of Ligue 1 matches on social networks. And beIN Sports will do the same.

This is the good news that we were no longer expecting. For the resumption of Ligue 1, the first goal of the season, scored by PSG in Le Havre, arrived after a few minutes. And in the process, the very beautiful action that led to Lee Kang-In’s goal “appeared” on social networks. In a completely legal way.

Unlike previous broadcasters, who were not allowed to do so, DAZN can broadcast some goals or highlights of Ligue 1 matches on social networks, without having to wait until midnight on Sunday evening as was previously the case.

beIN Sports to imitate DAZN

DAZN will do this all season, and beIN Sports will follow suit, posting “up to six 30-second clips from his Saturday (5 p.m.) poster,” according to L’Equipe. On Friday evening, DAZN published seven excerpts from Le Havre-PSG, goals, but also notable actions from the match.

Let’s face it, this is very good news, as we were legitimately worried about the loss of visibility of Ligue 1 with this new broadcaster and its very high price. This strategy of posting excerpts of its matches was chosen a few years ago by American giants like the NBA and the NFL, with the aim of showing its product to as many people as possible. To attract a new audience and, ultimately, gain new subscribers.
