It’s a big day for “McDonald’s Ligue 1” (the new official name) on DAZN. The British video service has therefore bought, for 400 million euros, the broadcast of eight of the nine matches of each day of the French championship, at the end of a pitiful soap opera offered by Vincent Labrune and the Football League. DAZN’s subscription prices are considered scandalous by the vast majority of L1 followers: 39.99 euros per month without commitment, 29.99 euros per month with a 12-month commitment (including the months of June and July without Ligue 1 matches).
The Canal+ group, very angry with the LFP, never wanted to sit down at the negotiating table, but still tied up a broadcasting agreement with the audiovisual group owned by a Ukrainian who made his fortune in Moscow. By subscribing to Canal+ with the Sports package, the beIN Sports channels (at 15 euros) and therefore DAZN, it is now possible to follow the entire football season, from Ligue 1 to the three European Cups, including the Premier League and La Liga, via Canal, thanks to TV decoders, the website canalplus.com and the MyCanal application. Even if the bill is particularly salty.
DAZN is not shared…
On Canal+, in order to access the DAZN channels (DAZN 1 and now DAZN 2 to 5), there are two possibilities as the website explains: in your customer area, Subscription section, you must click on “Change offer” then the “without resubscription” tab in order to find the DAZN Unlimited offer for €29.99/month with a commitment until the expiry date of your current subscription; or click on “Modify My Options” to find the offer without commitment at €40.
On this page of canalplus.com dedicated to DAZN Unlimited, it is clearly stated that the number of streams is only one and that it is therefore not possible to watch DAZN channels on two different devices (while multi-screen is possible for all other Canal services). We also learn that the Toulouse-Nantes match on Sunday at 5 p.m. will be offered “for all” on DAZN 3 (free on canalplus.com for non-subscribers).
