Lens knows its opponent in the play-offs

RC Lens has decided on its European fate.

This Thursday evening, the third preliminary round of the Europa League between Ajax and Panathinaikos turned to the advantage of the Amsterdam club.

Winners 0-1 in Athens in the first leg, the Dutch lost by the same score at home against the Greeks, before making the difference at the end of an interminable penalty shootout (13-12).

It is therefore the Athenians of Panathinaikos, thus eliminated from the Europa League, who will face the Lensois in the play-offs of the Europa Conference League.

To play for their place in the group stage of the third European Cup, the Blood and Gold will host Bollaert on Thursday August 22, before a trip to Greece a week later.

Be careful though, last season Panathinaikos got the better of OM in the third preliminary round of the Champions League.
