This is a new measure that should reassure English supporters. On the grounds of transparency, the English Football Association (FA) has announced that referees officiating in the British championship will now be required to reveal the clubs they support, or at least their potential links.
This data will be made public to fans and clubs. “Referees fill out questionnaires where they are asked to declare any interest before the season, and during the season if it changes. This information will be public so you can see exactly what it is.”explained Howard Webb, the head of English refereeing.
