The adventure has begun for Olivier Giroud. The French striker made his debut with Los Angeles FC on Tuesday evening, during a League Cup match against the San José Earthquakes.

Still in the recovery phase, the top scorer in the history of the Blues waited until the 71st minute before entering the game, to the cheers of the Californian crowd. The score was already won (4-1 for LAFC), and all the goals had already been scored, by the Uruguayan Cristian Olivera (17th), the former Stéphanois Denis Bouanga (45th + 5 sp, 66th) and the Polish Mateusz Bogusz (61st).

For Olivier Giroud, Hugo Lloris and their teammates, the Leagues Cup continues this weekend with a quarter-final on the Seattle Sounders’ pitch on Saturday night. As a reminder, this competition pits MLS clubs, the United States and Canadian championship, against Liga MX teams, the Mexican championship. The defending champion is Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
