Aguero, a former international teammate of the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, would like to see his compatriot play indefinitely. But a day will come when the South American GOAT will hang up his boots.
There is no indication as to when that will be the case, either for club or country, as Messi is still in fine form at the age of 37. He has won the Copa América and the World Cup with Argentina, while remaining an iconic figure for MLS side Inter Miami.
Messi can still extend in Miami
Former Manchester City and Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero told Stake.com when asked when Messi might stop playing: ” I will repeat it as many times as necessary: Leo will decide and his decision will suit me perfectly, whatever it is. I would like to see him play forever, but unfortunately it is impossible. He has earned the right to say how long he will play for the national team, and how long he will play as a professional footballer.
Messi has made over 900 club appearances in his record-breaking career, scoring 740 goals. He has also found the net 109 times in 187 appearances for Argentina. He is contracted to the Florida club until 2025, with an option for a 12-month extension.
