The 20-year-old is up for sale this summer, but Barcelona will look to keep him on hand, either with a buy-out clause or a high percentage of sell-on compensation, which will make the deal less expensive for the Catalans.
On Saturday, it was revealed that Stade Rennais had made a bid of €10-11 million for Faye, with a 25% buyout clause. Several other clubs were said to be interested, and Sport now report that AS Monaco are one of them.
Monaco inquires about Faye
The principality team will take advantage of their friendly match against Barcelona this Monday evening at the Joan Gamper Trophy to discuss the details of a transfer for Faye. The Monegasques want to know Barça’s demands for Faye.
On Friday, Eric Garcia confirmed that he would stay at Barcelona this summer, while Pau Cubarsi is also expected to return from the Olympics. Clément Lenglet is expected to leave, but with Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé and Inigo Martinez, the Blaugrana already have six centre-backs in their plans before thinking about Faye. His sale therefore becomes a logical consequence of their resources.
