Stade Rennais made official this Tuesday a choice reinforcement, in the person of Hans Hateboer.

A versatile 30-year-old defender, the Dutchman arrives in Brittany from Atalanta Bergamo, with a two-year contract at stake. According to L’Equipe, the transfer is worth around two million euros.

My first impressions are very goodsaid the person concerned in the club’s official media. I had a fantastic time with Atalanta. After this Europa League victory, I thought it was the right time for me to leave for a new adventure. I think Rennes is the perfect place to continue enjoying football. SRFC is a very good French club, and even if it will be a season without Europe, they must aim for European qualification. We know what that means, we must all have that goal. »

Hans Hateboer is Rennes’ fourth signing this summer, after Albert Gronbaek, Glen Kamara and Leo Ositgard. Hans has a wealth of experience at the highest level behind him, whether in the Italian championship, in European cups, in the Italian Cup or in the national team, with remarkable careers. In seven and a half seasons in Bergamo, he has established himself as an essential cog in his team. A man on the pitch and in the locker room, we are convinced that he will be able to blend in very well with this group “, predicts SRFC president Olivier Cloarec.
