The attacking midfielder, who starred for Spain at Euro 2024, has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer. However, the Catalan giants are yet to complete a deal for the player, despite two offers to his current club RB Leipzig to sign him.
The Blaugrana reportedly made an initial offer of €40 million plus an additional €20 million in variables, which was quickly rejected by the Germans, forcing them to make a second offer of €47 million fixed, plus €3 million, based on the player’s appearances in matches, and an additional €10 million in potential bonuses for future titles. However, Sport reports today that the Bundesliga club are not willing to let their star player leave unless their €60 million demand is met.
Lepizig will not back down
FC Barcelona are also unlikely to increase their offer despite Leipzig’s firmness, but the 26-year-old is believed to be keen to join the Camp Nou this summer and Red Bull will respect their preference.
Hansi Flick’s side are back in Spain after their pre-season tour in the United States. The Catalans will play a final friendly at home against AS Monaco before starting the new 2024/25 season.
