On May 14,
Olivier Giroud signed for Los Angeles FC by signing a contract until December 2025. A Major League Soccer club where Zlatan Ibrahimovic played between 2018 and 2020, before returning to AC Milan.
The Swedish striker encouraged the top scorer in the history of the Blues to sign with this franchise founded in 2014.
“I spoke with Zlatan, who was not on the right side of the city. He told me that I will enjoy myself, that it is a Championship for attackers because the teams are players, they do not play to keep a result or to defend. They play to score goals and to please the fans. I will enjoy myself,” stated in the columns of The Team the one who announced
his international retirement on July 15th.
Griezmann ready to join Giroud and Lloris?
Olivier Giroud also spoke about this with Antoine Griezmann. “When he saw that I had signed in Los Angeles, he was a little jealous, he smiled. I told him, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll meet up in a few years.’ Well, a few years… hopefully soon! I don’t know where we are with the club, but, yes, I sent him a message right away when I saw that he was announced in Los Angeles. I know he loves the United States, basketball, baseball and football. One day or another, he will come here, for sure.”
Antoine Griezmann is being courted by Los Angeles FC, which already has Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud in its squad. The MLS club’s leaders could take advantage of “Grizou’s” relatively low release clause (ten million euros) to poach him this summer.
