Pep Guardiola assessed his former club’s performance in the post-match press conference (via Sport). He was very enthusiastic about FC Barcelona’s performance and the effect Flick has had in such a short space of time.

“I really liked the team. The competitive games are completely different from pre-season, but they did a lot of things well.
“We suffered a lot when they had the ball. Their positional play is extraordinary. The wingers play like wingers, the midfielders come forward and the full-backs attack the spaces.
There is no doubt that this is a positive start to a new era for FC Barcelona, and Flick will be hoping to continue that momentum in the annual pre-season Clasico against Real Madrid this weekend.
