Paris Saint-Germain is about to repatriate Xavi Simons, author of an excellent season under the colors of PSV Eindhoven.

The information is not yet official on the Paris Saint-Germain side. It is however for PSV Eindhoven. This Sunday, the Dutch club released a statement to announce that Xavi Simons had decided to return to PSG this summer. When he left the French club last summer, the attacking midfielder initialed a clause implying a possible buyout of his contract by Paris, provided that he himself agreed to a return. This being the case, he will therefore make his comeback.

And if PSG wanted to repatriate him, it’s because Xavi Simons had an excellent season in the Eredivisie. Second in the final standings with his team, the Dutchman also finished second in the scorers’ standings with nineteen goals. In terms of assists, he was not left out either since he validated eight. Statistics that suggest great things for the next exercise, if he has playing time.

More playing time?

There is no doubt that if Xavi Simons made the decision to replay for PSG, it was because Luis Campos promised him that he would not lose out. With the arrival on the Parisian bench of a Luis Enrique whom he met when he played for the young people of FC Barcelona, the twenty-year-old player hopes to be used much more than under the Mauricio Pochettino era. But the competition will be tough for him, with in particular the arrivals of Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio. It’s up to him to find his place.
