Ligue 1 finally has a broadcaster! Broadcasters, even. According to information from RMC Sport, an agreement has been reached between the LFP, DAZN and beIN Sports for the broadcast of the 2024-2025 season of the French championship. Despite intense negotiations in recent days, beIN has stuck to its basic offer to have the right to broadcast the premium match of the day.
The Qatari media thus pays 80 million for broadcasting and 20 million for sponsorship rights. DAZN, which will make its debut on the other matches of each day, for a check of 400 million euros. The news will be made official in the coming hours, at the end of the board of directors where the agreement will be ratified.
What price for subscribers?
In practice, this is rather good news for subscribers and future subscribers, since the price initially mentioned has dropped significantly. The DAZN subscription will be set at 10 euros per month for an annual commitment, compared to 15 euros per month for a subscription without commitment. Nothing new on the beIN Sports side, where it will be a classic subscription at 15 euros per month for all the channel’s programs.
The next deadline for the LFP, which was hoping to get much more out of this renegotiation of television rights, will be organizing its general elective assembly on September 10. Vincent Labrune, who has been heavily criticized for his management of the issue and his ambitions deemed unrealistic by some, will try to be re-elected.
