Now without a club, Layvin Kurzawa spoke to our colleagues at The Team particularly regarding his transfer to FC Nantes which fell through during the last winter transfer window: “On the last day of the transfer window, Moussa Sissoko, who is a friend, called me to tell me that the club would like to get in touch with me. I said: ‘No problem, let them call me’. I explained to them that I would go there with great pleasure for six months. In Nantes, they were really surprised. I only had one desire, to play football again. I called Luis Campos to ask him if it was possible to go to Nantes. He told me: ‘Of course, I’m happy for you’ and that there would be no problem in settling the salary issue.”the French player first explained.

Finally, a hiccup occurred in the negotiations at the last minute: “I put the two clubs in touch, I had prepared my suitcase, but I didn’t hear from them until 10pm. And Nantes told me that they ultimately preferred to buy a player, when that wasn’t the case (Nicolas Cozza was loaned without an option to buy by Wolfsburg, Editor’s note). I didn’t appreciate it. To think that they contacted me again recently.”concluded the former Monaco player. While waiting to receive phone calls, Kurzawa is ready.
