As a reminder, Manchester United suffered 47 million euros in related losses during the 2022 control period, in addition to the 234 million euros in losses related to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019/20 and 2020/21. . However, the club were unable to adjust this loss in their break-even calculation for 2022, due to an unforeseen change in the way UEFA handled Covid-19 losses during the transition to its revised regulatory framework. In the meantime, the club is trying to ensure that this sanction will not have an impact on its budget as well as on its ambitions at the start of the summer transfer window.
