Prioritized by Luis Enrique, Joao Neves is not insensitive to the interest of PSG. But the 100 million euros demanded by Benfica pose a problem.

If PSG’s season was obviously marked by the new soap opera around Kylian Mbappé, Luis Enrique had real satisfaction. Particularly in midfield where Warren Zaire-Emery confirmed the promises placed in him and where Vitinha took on a new dimension after a complicated first year in the capital. And even Fabian Ruiz, the third man, ultimately met expectations.

However, the recruitment of a new midfielder has been made a priority by Luis Enrique and several names have been mentioned in recent weeks, including Joshua Kimmich and Bruno Guimaraes. But according to the Portuguese press, Luis Enrique’s favorite target is Joao Neves, Benfica’s new nugget.

Manchester United and Chelsea in the ranks

At only 19 years old, the young Portuguese was one of the most prominent players among the Eagles, to the point of playing 55 matches in all competitions, and is on the verge of settling into the midfield of the Portuguese selection. Great performances which mean that its rating has skyrocketed in recent months.

Benfica is well aware of this and is taking refuge behind its release clause. It will probably be necessary to pay 100 million euros to secure the services of the native of Lisbon. A sum which raises eyebrows of the French champions who have started discussions with his compatriot Jorge Mendes, the agent of the Portuguese international. But the competition promises to be tough for the capital club since Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly closely monitoring the Benfica nugget.
