Atletico Madrid defender Renan Lodi is set to sign for Olympique de Marseille.
Olympique de Marseille is about to complete the arrival of a left side. While the names of Perraud and Tsimikas have been put forward on the Commanderie side, it is the Brazilian Renan Lodi who will strengthen the ranks of the Marseille team.
The Atletico Madrid left-back, who was on loan at Nottingham Forest during the second half of the past campaign, will undergo medical tests on Friday and then sign his contract.
Renan Lodi transfer fee
Marseille will pay 13M€ to secure the services of Renan Lodi. The latter will become the most expensive defector of the summer for the Olympians, since the only arrival recorded so far is that of Geoffrey Kondogbia (8M€).
The duration of the contract
The Brazilian will sign a five-year deal with the Marseille team. His arrival should satisfy Marcelino, the team’s new coach. Knowing the player perfectly since he was coaching in La Liga, the Spanish technician had insisted on his coming to the leaders and finally won his case.
27e Brazilian OM player
Renan Lodi will become the 27e Brazilian player in the history of OM. The last was Gerson, but the latter has since gone to Flamengo. The Brazilian squad currently includes another Brazilian in the person of Luis Henrique, but it is unlikely that the latter will be retained. Renan Lodi will probably seek to leave a better mark at the Vélodrome than this duo and also the last Brazilian defenders who have passed through the club, such as Lucas Silva, Lucas Mendes or Doria.
