While the signing of Renan Lodi is imminent, Olympique de Marseille is working behind the scenes to strengthen its attacking sector. As such, we recently mentioned a particular interest from Marseille leaders for Iliman Ndiaye, a great architect of Sheffield United’s comeback in the Premier League with his 14 goals and 11 assists in 46 Championship games. Seduced by a return to his roots, the Senegalese international (7 caps, 1 goal) has reached an agreement with his training club for a 5-year contract. But the hardest part is yet to come for Pablo Longoria and company, who must now meet the financial demands of the promoted Englishman.

Provence indicates that the Blades do not want to give in so easily to the songs of the Marseille sirens and claim no less than 20 million for the 23-year-old striker whose contract with the residents of Bramall Lane will come to an end in June 2024. However, optimism is in force in this case insofar as the native of Rouen is unanimous within the management of Marseille.

  1. Wishfull thinking by the French media blowing smoke and mirrors suggesting its a done deal.
Sheffield United could gamble and keep him for whole season as the Premier league is worth £150m to the club if can stay in. Or sell him in January window if Blades are bottom of league.

But linking him with a move to Marseille now is premature as a year in the premier league will build up the players status more and he could go to PSG or a bigger club in 1 or 2 years. Will Marseille pay big money as so far nothing reported between the clubs other than media speculation. I think and hope he will stay in Sheffield for one or two seasons and then move for £50+ m
