For the opposition against Betis, Carlo Ancelotti could start one of the club’s young products for the first time.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that Mario Martin is part of his plans and that it was possible that he would start him before the big meeting on 1er next June against Dortmund.
The midfielder could play against Real Betis today. Until then, he has only made brief appearances at the end of games, against Alaves and Villarreal respectively (8 minutes played each time). He also played 20 minutes in the Cup match against Arandina last January.
Ancelotti ready to take a risk
Ancelotti said: “He is progressing very well and he can be part of the team without any problem. He has quality and a good attitude. “He is a player, like many others from the club, who we can think could be a first-team player in the future.”
Ancelotti was also asked about the future of captain Nacho Fernandez: “He hasn’t made a decision yet. We are waiting, but we are in no hurry. The idea of those who end their contract this year is to finish the season well and then they will have time to choose what they want to do.”
