A page is turning for Claudio Ranieri. The Italian coach, who played in Italy, Spain, France, England and Greece, announced his retirement after 38 years in office. In Sardinia, at the Cagliari club, since 2022, the native of Rome played his last match on a bench yesterday against Fiorentina (club which he had also coached). The club wanted to properly honor its historic coach.
Supporters at the Sardegna Arena unfurled a banner reading: “ eternal gratitude to a great man “. The whole stadium stood up and applauded Claudio Ranieri, very moved by this tribute. The Italian then thanked the Casteddus and walked around the pitch in the company of his grandchildren and the whole team.
