The club season is over for Aurélien Tchouaméni. The French midfielder or defender of Real Madrid will not play on Saturday evening against Betis, for the last day of La Liga. And he will especially miss the Champions League final on June 1 in London against Borussia Dortmund.
“He is out of the final but he will return for the Euro”, confided Carlo Ancelotti this Friday at a press conference. Tchouaméni once again suffers from a stress fracture in one foot, which forced him to go to the United States last week to consult a specialist in the matter.
Tchouaméni restored for the Euro?
Ancelotti is optimistic about the Euro, but there still remains a fair amount of uncertainty. These stress fractures are difficult injuries to manage. The previous one, at the end of last year, had Tchouaméni away from the field for 47 days. This time, the injury occurred on May 8, and if the healing time remains the same, the former Monegasque could miss the start of the Euro, and in particular the France-Austria on June 17 in Düsseldorf.
The key date, however, is June 7. This is the deadline set for coaches to submit their lists for the Euro. In the week following the Champions League final, Tchouaméni will have to give guarantees to Didier Deschamps.
