Whether Aston Villa’s interest is real has been debated, while Bayern Munich and Manchester United have made contact with his agents in 2024 and Chelsea have just entered the picture.
Chelsea want Araujo
According to MD, Chelsea have started discussions with Araujo with a significant offer for the Uruguayan in order to improve their situation. The 24-year-old has always maintained he is happy at Barcelona, but contract negotiations have stalled in recent months, with his contract ending in 2026, and he has not ruled out a move away.
United are understood to have told Araujo he would be signed if he expressed a desire to leave Barcelona, while Bayern held talks with him in January, although a transfer did not go through. Bayern are still in the running, but Thomas Tuchel’s replacement will have to give the green light to any transaction.
