After remaining on the Sardinian bench, the 72-year-old Italian coach is now leaving the world of football to take a well-deserved retirement. Passed by Napoli, Fiorentina, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Parma, Juventus, Roma, Inter, AS Monaco, Greek national team, FC Nantes, Fulham, Sampdoria and Watford , he made football history with the Premier League title with Leicester:
“Mister Ranieri takes leave of Cagliari: in his two experiences with the Club he has always managed to lead the team to achieve the final goal. Already author in the past of two promotions (from Serie C to Serie A) and a maintenance in the biggest series, he accomplished another masterpiece during the last year and a half with the victory of the series playoffs and the conquest in this season of remaining in the elite”, is written in a press release in the form of a farewell letter published on the official website of the Sardinian club.
