After Fonseca and Sergio Conceiçao, another coach chose to decline the offer made to him by OM.

OM part ways with Jean-Louis Gasset after the end of the 2023/2024 season. The club wants to find a new coach by the end of the month, but it is having all the difficulty in the world to attract the technicians it approaches.

The Roberto De Zerbi option was considered too expensive. Concerning Paulo Fonseca, he chose to join AC Milan. The Sergio Conceiçao track yielded nothing. Finally, even the little-valued Matias Almeyda rejected the Olympian offer.

A Greek club preferred to OM

The former Argentina international was highly appreciated by Pablo Longoria. However, he preferred to continue with his current club AEK Athens rather than moving to Vélodrome. This is what the media Sportime reveals. He has a contract until 2028 with the Hellenic team.

Almeyda, who foiled Marseille during the 98 World Cup with his Albiceleste selection, has a release clause of 10 million euros. For now, since he doesn’t want to move, it’s irrelevant.
