Arriving this summer at Bayern Munich from Napoli, Kim Min-jae (27 years old) had a mixed performance (36 appearances, 1 goal and 2 assists). After a good start to the season, the South Korean central defender left with his team to compete in the Asian Cup of Nations. Coming back with difficulty from the competition, he lost his place to Matthijs de Ligt and Eric Dier. His end of the season was also marked by his failed performance against Real Madrid in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League (2-2).

In an interview for Footballerhe said he felt limited by the tactical demands placed on him: “as a defender, I always played with conviction. But here, such qualities were not always sought after, which led to internal conflicts for me.” He supported his remarks by talking about the match against the Merengues: “There were many moments during the match where I hesitated. Because I couldn’t play with full conviction. I tried very hard to show what the coach wanted.”
