“The intention was not for Vitor to come in December and stay there (in Brazil). The option became clear with Gavi’s injury. For his training, we thought it was the best and so we had the opportunity to incorporate him so that he could see what the club was like (…) There is a debate which, for me, has no sense. He is a player present in training. There are players who are ahead of him and that’s why he plays less. This has happened all my life with young footballers. On the other hand, it should be remembered that the day before the match in Girona, he was at home with a fever and that on the eve of last Monday’s duel against Real Sociedad, he had discomfort in his ankle.
