Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan and Juventus are currently eyeing the same item. This is Porto midfielder Otavio. This was revealed by the player’s agent.
Inter and Juve in competition
It would seem that Porto do not want to part with their Lusitano international (14 caps), but his release clause of 40 million euros has attracted the attention of several major European clubs.
Otavio’s agent Israel Oliveira is convinced there could be a bidding war in Italy for the Portugal international midfielder. He confirmed that Inter and Juventus are among the clubs in the running for his client’s signature, while saying both clubs could struggle to pay his release clause.
“I can say that Italy strongly wants the player and the interest in him from your country continues to exist,” Olivera said (via Calciomercato). “We are talking about a player who has shown his worth and would be ready for any club. It would do very well in Italy. It is who will raise the necessary funds to pay the 40 million requested by Porto. They really want it”.
Otavio stood out at Porto last season, helping Sergio Conceicao’s side win the Portuguese Cup and the League Cup. He played a leading role in that title-winning campaign, scoring seven times and providing 13 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
