After a generally disappointing season for FC Barcelona due to their elimination from the group stage of the Champions League, despite the title obtained in La Liga, Marc-André ter Stegen had a very interesting 2022/2023 exercise. It is even one of the best seasons for the German goalkeeper since his arrival in Catalonia. Indeed, the 31-year-old goalkeeper won the Zamora trophy after conceding only 18 goals in 38 La Liga games for 26 clean sheets. A great consecration which confirms his importance within the team led by Xavi. The goalkeeper trained at Borussia Mönchengladbach should even be one of the vice-captains of the Barcelona team for years to come.

And according to the latest indiscretions of our colleagues from brand, FC Barcelona and Marc-André ter Stegen have already started negotiations for the renewal of the goalkeeper who ends his contract with the Barça club in June 2025. In this case, optimism is in order since the German goalkeeper feels good in Catalonia. The Spanish media also specifies that the proposal is already on the negotiating table while the discussions between the two parties are very good. An extension of his contract until 2028 is hoped for by the Barcelona management knowing that the leaders of the Catalan club want the German to end his career at Camp Nou. To be continued…
