Like every year, the magazine France Soccer has fun ranking the best French players of the season. The 2022-2023 campaign is no exception to the rule, which will have been marked by the incredible World Cup in Qatar, won under the nose and beard of the France team by Lionel Messi’s Argentina. Unsurprisingly, Kylian Mbappé crushes the ballot with 115 points received, 70 more than his runner-up Karim Benzema. Author of a fantastic season on a personal level, the star of Paris Saint-Germain will once again have been sparkling with the Blues during the World Cup. Despite his hat-trick in the final against the Albiceleste, the former Monegasque could not avoid the defeat of his team on penalties.
Behind Kylian Mbappé, we find Karim Benzema, second best Frenchman of the year according to France Soccer. For his last dance with Real Madrid, the 35-year-old striker will still have planted 31 times in 43 games. To complete the podium, Antoine Griezmann. From the top of pink dye, “Grizou” found colors with a formidable season with 15 goals and 16 assists in 38 La Liga days. Mike Maignan and Randal Kolo-Muani, two former residents of Ligue 1, complete the top 5. Note also the presence of Christopher Nkunku, Alexandre Lacazette, Eduardo Camavinga, Adrien Rabiot or Olivier Giroud in the top 10 signed France Soccer.
