Author of an excellent first season with Paris Saint-Germain, Bradley Barcola could be called up for the first time for the French team at the next meeting. The former Lyonnais is one of the main avenues studied to compensate for Kingsley Coman’s package.
Do you remember when we wrote that Paris Saint-Germain was going to have the attacking trio of the France team, with Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani at the very end of the summer transfer window? It should not stop there because a fourth man, who has established himself as a starter this season, could also join the Blues. It is of course Bradley Barcola.
The former Lyonnais could be part of the next list, which Didier Deschamps must unveil next Thursday in view of the friendly matches against Germany in Lyon and Chile in Marseille. The injury to Kingsley Coman leaves a place to be taken, and Barcola is one of the main options considered by the coach, according to Téléfoot.
Barcola at the Olympics… and at the Euro?
In the absence of Coman, Deschamps should logically call on another winger. And there aren’t many options other than Barcola that stand out. Christopher Nkunku is more of an axis player, and his season with Chelsea has been bumpy. There is Moussa Diaby, who has already been called up to the Blues, which could give him an advantage, but his performances with Aston Villa are less telling than those of Barcola, scorer in the Champions League against Real Sociedad.
With his speed, his dribbling and his versatility, Barcola has a profile that should please Didier Deschamps. And while he is one of the players on whom Thierry Henry hopes to count for the Olympic Games, it is perhaps a place at Euro 2024 that the former Lyonnais is currently playing for.
