Since his return from injury, the performances of Aphonso Davies (23) have been closely scrutinized. Now starting for the first time in four matches, his match had to be shortened. The Canadian received an elbow then a foot in the face in the 16th minute. With his mouth bleeding after his violent duel with Silvan Widmer, the left-back gave way to Raphael Guerreiro who contributed to the Bavarians’ great historic success. Alphonso Davies went straight to the locker room before having to go to the emergency room.

“Things aren’t looking so good for Phonzie. Some of his teeth were crooked. That’s why he’s at the dentist. We hope it’s not that serious” explained his coach Thomas Tuchel. The player reassured his fans with a photo published on his Instagram. After a medical intervention, the Bayern player regained his smile.
