Radio host Jérome Rothen had very harsh words towards OM coach, Jean-Louis Gasset.
Jean-Louis Gasset has had a fairly attractive start to his career at OM. In four matches, he recorded four victories. Including a very valuable one on Thursday against Villarreal in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League. A success acquired, moreover, against the former Olympian coach, Marcelino.
Gasset does an excellent job. Despite this, there are some who are still skeptical about his ability to bring Marseille back to the top. This is the case, for example, of Jérôme Rothen.
“Gasset and Printant have done nothing but bananas”
Speaking in his show Rothen s’igne on RMC Sport, the former Parisian was particularly critical of Gennaro Gattuso’s successor: “You all make me laugh, defending Jean-Louis Gasset. They made 5-1 against Clermont, who has not won a match all year. Stop your nonsense. We’re talking about OM, we have to be serious for two seconds.”
As arguments, Rothen recalled Gasset’s record as number 1 in his previous clubs: “He and Printant went bananas everywhere they went. ASSE is the only club where he had a positive record. In the space of 15 days, it’s magnificent, the players have done their best. Stop making Gasset look like a football genius to me.”
