Neymar has sent a defiant message of “No pain no gain” as he returns from an ACL injury, but he is still far from a competitive return.

The 32-year-old striker suffered knee ligament damage while on international duty with Brazil in September 2023. He left the 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in tears and quickly learned he would have to undergo surgery before beginning a long rehabilitation program.

After four months of absence, Neymar is working behind the scenes to return as quickly as possible. For the moment, the Samba star is limited to gymnastics sessions. He posted an update on social media on the theme “ no pain, no gain”, the South American being ready to push his body to its limits to get back in top shape.

A return too late?

The former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain superstar joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal on a two-year deal in August 2023.

It remains to be seen when he will play for the team again, as questions arise over his future at the club. The unfortunate injury is expected to prevent him from representing Brazil in the 2024 Copa América, which will take place in the United States this summer.
