Bayern Munich has identified the coach who would succeed Thomas Tuchel on the bench of its first team.
Thomas Tuchel will not be Bayern coach next season. Due to a succession of bad results, the PSG coach will give up his apron. By then he hopes to win the Bundesliga and the Champions League with the Bavarian team.
Who to succeed him? The name of Xabi Alonso was put forward at the beginning, but it turns out that the Basque technician has a preference for Liverpool. The Bayern board was therefore forced to concoct a plan B. And plan B is named Roberto De Zerbi.
An Italian on the Bayern bench?
Indeed, and if we are to believe Sky Germany, the Brighton coach would today be in the best position to arrive at the Allianz Arena. His work and style are highly appreciated by Munich officials and there would therefore be a good chance that he would be recruited by the German giant.
It should be noted, however, that the last experience of an Italian coach with Bayern was not a great success. Carlo Ancelotti had a brief stint with this team and was fired at the start of the second season.
