While the signing of Kylian Mbappé is considered a given, Real Madrid are now tackling the Alphonso Davies file.
Real Madrid’s strength is that they are often one step ahead in terms of recruitment. The big reinforcement of the Merengues for next season should be Kylian Mbappé, whose signing is considered by the Spanish press to already be completed, and it is now time for the White House to move forward on its other priority of the summer: the arrival of a starting left back.
Real have clearly identified their target. This is Alphonso Davies, the Bayern Munich player. The Canadian international will be at the end of his contract with the German champions in 2025, and he does not intend to extend for the first time. Bayern will therefore have to choose between keeping a player who is heading elsewhere and seeing him leave for free in a little over a year, or selling him this summer to recover some money and prepare for the future, by recruiting through example Theo Hernandez (AC Milan).
Negotiations to begin for Davies
Borussia Dortmund found themselves in a similar situation last year with Jude Bellingham, and everything was resolved quite easily between the two clubs. For Davies, Marca believes that Real Madrid will start negotiations slowly, with an offer of around 35 million euros. The Canadian is worth double that (70 million euros according to Transfermakt), but his value will decrease this summer, one year from the end of his contract, and Bayern could sell their player for around 50 million euros.
If Davies arrives, Real Madrid will undoubtedly seek to part ways with Ferland Mendy. Often injured this season, the former Lyonnais will also be at the end of his contract in 2025, and the Merengues should try to sell him this summer.
