Marc-André Ter Stegen is the subject of Saudi interest from Karim Benzema’s club.
Due to its ongoing financial problems, FC Barcelona will be forced to make at least one major sale this summer. Players like Jules Koundé, Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong have been cited as possible movers, and Marc-André Ter Stegen is also the subject of interest.
It was reported earlier this week that Ter Stegen had received a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia. This information was confirmed by Relevo, which specifies that this proposal comes from Al-Ittihad, the club for which Karim Benzema, Ngolo Kanté and Fabinho play.
A former Barça man in charge
The report states that the driving force behind Al-Ittihad’s interest comes from Ramon Planes, who was appointed sporting director at the start of the year, leaving Real Betis to take up the role. Planes also held a similar role at Barcelona from 2018 to 2021.
Ter Stegen is considered an invaluable player by FC Barcelona, but given his financial situation, the club could be tempted to do business if he receives a sufficient offer from Al-Ittihad.
